The International Door
Association was created in 1995 with the merger of the Door &
Operator Dealers Association (est. 1968) and the Far Western Garage Door
Association (est. 1964).
The merger was agreed between
the two associations on June 14, 1994, and the IDA began officially
functioning on January 1, 1995.
